Upscaling Image with Transparent Background Adds Background

I just tried the awesome new 'transparent background' in the prompt feature to create an image with a transparent background. It worked perfectly! But when I went to upscale it using Crisp Upscale, it added a white background back in!
I reported this in the original request, but it's already been closed and I wasn't sure if my message would be seen by the support team.

The Creative Upscaler is great but it costs 20 credits. I upscale 100 + images a day and have to bring it into another program to do that because I would run out of credits in no time. Is there anyway to have it cost less credits? Or have the creative upscaler not add a white background back on once it's been removed?

Creative Upscale is a GPU intensive operation, that is the reason for increased cost.
As an alternative you could use Crisp Upscale which does quality improvement for the image.
Or you could purchase a more expensive plan with larger amount of credits. It's also possible to purchase additional credit packs if you're out of credits.
Hope it's helpful!

Hi Jesse,
Thank you for your feedback! It’s being reviewed by the team. In the meantime, could you please send screenshots or a video of your actions, along with a link to the project where the image still had a white background after upscaling (at help@recraft.ai)?

Olga, I'm sorry I totally worded that wrong. I meant to say the Crisp upscaler keeps adding the white background back on. The Creative Upscaler has not done that, but it also costs 20 credits. I can still send the screenshots of the actions using the Crisp upscaler if you would like?

Hi Donna,
Thank you for your feedback!
Upscale doesn't support transparency, also background removal doesn't work with high resolution at the moment.
Support for transparency in images with large resolution will be implemented at some point, but currently we don't have a clear time line for it yet.
